Vanessa is New York’s best defense attorney, having never lost a case in her entire career & is loved by her fans. NOTE : ableism will not be tolerated against vanessa’s disorders. OF NOTE : Vanessa is a very prominent woman, loud, and unforgettable. She speaks up for what she thinks is right without hesitation, all while putting herself first no matter the cost. That is, until Dawn came along, & almost all of it changed. She had somethingone to fight for now. After Dawn disappeared, her strings came loose, & she hasn’t been quite the same. The media is silent, her fans supporting her every step of the way, even if there isn’t as much as a “thank you.” Fearing that Dawn has been killed and is laying in a field somewhere, surrounded by corn and bush, she shoves herself down into her cases, always coming out on top. Interacting with people on the street, she almost always expects them to know who she is. She is, obviously, an international treasure. VANESSA DE LA FONTAINE was born to Emily & Daniel de la Fontaine in Los Angeles, California, on August 12th, 1979. Growing up, she knew money and where her next meal would, in fact, come from, as her father was an accountant and her mother was a cop. Unfortunately, one day in September when she was seven, her mother would die from a horribly timed run-in with a criminal the department had been hunting for a few months. A year later, her father remarried to a journalist named Louise who, while many years younger than her father and could pass as her sister, wasn’t too terrible. Vanessa did find her rather annoying, but tolerable. When she was about fourteen, her father lost his job and picked up alcoholism, becoming slowly more unstable and began fighting more and more often with Louise causing Vanessa to seek shelter quite literally anywhere else. Often staying at the houses of her friends or sneaking back into school after hours, she would move on to go to college and get her degree to become a lawyer. She did, and began her career in LA. At some point, she’d met a man called Keith. He was only a few years older than she was, and they started dating. A year in, he proposed, and she said yes. Their marriage was rocky from the start as Vanessa prioritized her career over her relationship with him, leading him to seek “company” elsewhere. She’d caught him cheating, and while she was no saint, immediately wanted a divorce. He then remarried the same woman he was cheating on her with and still cheats on that woman. Vanessa moves to another city in California, meeting a man called Johnny. Within a few years, Johnny would go on to move with her to New York City for a major job opportunity and proposed the day they moved in. She said yes and they married a year after. This man would go on to be the father of her child, and in 2009 her daughter was born. They decided on the name Dawn for the girl and had moved into a quieter location for a few years of Dawn’s life. Although, while Dawn was still a kid, about 4, they began fighting more and more often. Johnny had slowly picked up on Vanessa’s horrible behavior and became more aware of her manipulative nature and the gaslighting. A year later, in 2014, the two divorced with split custody of Dawn until Vanessa framed Johnny, stashing various amounts of drugs in his car. A few months later, she remarried to a man called Tom. Tom was well aware of Vanessa’s manipulative nature, and tried his very best to better her as a person and accepted her as she was. Vanessa made a few changes, but at some point, reverted back, and that’s when Vanessa snapped and tried to kill Tom. That would be what ended their marriage and Dawn would spend the next two years in between their houses. She’d spend the summers with Vanessa and the rest of the time with Tom. When Dawn was fourteen, she went to school and never returned. The police still, after a month, have no leads on her disappearance, and presume her dead and while Tom has learned to accept this, Vanessa is still in extreme denial. Still in New York, Vanessa has decided to fully focus on her career. Having never lost a case made her very popular on the internet and otherwise, having just under nine hundred thousand followers. While she is busy with her cases, she still somehow makes time for the people who follow her, and has actually met a few. Vanessa, like many others, has a secret (or seven) and intends to keep it hidden.

2023 :
The media, the people ⸻ all of them losing their minds after the disappearance of world–renowned lawyer Vanessa de la Fontaine’s beloved daughter had gone missing from her school in Maine. Everyone, of course, pointed blame at the girl’s stepfather. The Siren’s murders have gone to an all—time high and the media is worried sick that they’ll be next. She can barely focus. More people have gone missing.
2024 :
It’s been six months since Dawn de la Fontaine went missing. The Siren has only gotten more violent, news spreading like wildfire no matter how hard the cops try to keep it under wraps. Vanessa’s trying, too, to keep her personal life from the media’s sticky fingers. She remains calm, however, knowing that she has at least a few people to rely on. More people go missing.
2025 :
It’s officially been over a year. More people missing, Dawn still gone. She watches the sun set and the sun rise every night and every morning. She isn’t going to let go of the idea of Dawn returning home, safe, and relatively uninjured. Meredith’s film is nearly finished filming. How can someone make a film with a set ending… while the end is still undetermined?
